Teacher Professional Development

TDT Creative Language Center offers a full range of courses for teachers who want to continue their professional development. The courses have been designed for flexible delivery – either fully face-to-face, fully online or in a blended format.

As a key partner of Cambridge English in Language for Teaching and Certificate in EMI Skills, we are offering these courses to all teachers, tuition providers or other stakeholders in education. Here are the details of the two courses:

1. Language for Teaching Online course:

Courses that build English language skills 

These three courses are for English language teachers working in primary, secondary and higher education. They give teachers the language they need to teach English with confidence.

Overview and outcomes

The three courses develop teachers’ English language skills and knowledge. Teachers will improve their general English, as well as learn the professional language they need for effective communication in English, both inside and outside the classroom. 

Each Language for Teaching course covers one level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) and on completion, teachers can take a Cambridge English language exam. The three courses combined will take teachers from CEFR Level A1 to B2.

Language for Teaching courses will help teachers get the best from their students.

2. English as a Medium of Instruction:

Helps Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) to deliver courses successfully in English

This English language course is for academic sta­ff whose first language is not English. It helps improve teaching quality and supports internationalisation.

Overview and outcomes

Our Certificate in EMI Skills course is for higher education teaching sta­ff. It improves English language profi ciency, develops awareness of students’ language issues and explores di­fferent methodological approaches to instruction in a foreign language. 

By the end of the course, participants will:

 

• be able to use English more e­ffectively
• know a variety of language options to use in di­fferent teaching situations, from lectures to tutorials
• have improved their skills in delivering instruction in English to students from a range of cultural backgrounds

Certificate
