Workshop "A bank of activities for teaching productive skills in a student-centered classroom”
It was the topic of the Workshop held by TDT Creative Language Center (CLC) of Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU) on the morning of December 21, 2020, attracting a large number of lecturers; with the presentation of Mr. Kim Pilger, an educational expert with more than 20 years of experience in teaching and training in countries such as Canada, Japan, Korea, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Vietnam.
Participating in the Workshop, the speaker and attendees shared and practiced activities to make a classroom truly effective in a learner-centered setting. Teaching languages in the 21st century requires teachers to be creative in designing activities to meet diverse learning needs. In addition, the activities need to be practical to help learners apply the knowledge they have learned in daily life, not just in academic classrooms.
The seminar brings a lot of new and practical knowledge, helping teachers realize what they need to prepare learners to be ready to adapt for all circumstances in the new setting.
At the end of the workshop, CLC Center gave Teacher of the Year and Teacher of Distinction certificates and awards to the lecturers with high scores in the 2019-2020 Academic year. This is an annual activity of the center to recognize the contributions of teachers to the University, the center and students.
