Integrating AI into Education: Opportunities and Challenges in Teaching and Learning

On January 7th, 2025, TDT Creative Language Center (TDT CLC) hosted a highly engaging and informative workshop titled “Integrating AI into Education: Opportunities and Challenges in Teaching and Learning”. The event brought together educators, students, and technology enthusiasts from Ton Duc Thang University, People's Police University, and other universities to delve into the evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in shaping the future of education.

The workshop began with remarks from Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sy, Vice Director, in charge of TDT CLC. Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Sy emphasized AI's transformative power in enhancing teaching skills and adapting to the evolving educational landscape. He also highlighted AI’s role in improving efficiency and fostering personalized, effective learning environments.

The session featured two insightful presentations. Mr. Groza Edgars- a full-time lecturer at TDT CLC, explored practical applications of AI in the classroom, particularly in English language teaching and lesson design. He demonstrated how AI-powered tools can assist educators in crafting engaging lessons tailored to students' needs, while also enhancing language acquisition and personalizing learning paths.

Mr. Bui Quoc Anh, Director of the Data Center of Vietnam National University- Ho Chi Minh City, provided a broad perspective on AI trends in education, both globally and in Vietnam. He highlighted the increasing adoption of AI technologies in universities and explored the opportunities they offer to enhance personalized learning, improve teaching efficiency, and expand access to global knowledge.

The workshop also engaged participants in hands-on activities, allowing them to experience firsthand how AI tools can be integrated into lesson planning and classroom practices. Educators experimented with AI-driven tools for creating interactive lesson plans, automating administrative tasks, and analyzing student progress. These activities provided participants with practical strategies they could immediately apply in their own classrooms.

TDT Creative Language Center would like to extend its sincere thanks to all participants, as well as our esteemed speakers, Mr. Bui Quoc Anh and Mr. Groza Edgars, for their valuable contributions. TDT CLC looks forward to hosting more events that continue to explore the intersection of education and technology, fostering a community of innovative and forward-thinking educators.
