Ton Duc Thang University Opens the New Academic Year
On November 12, 2021, Ton Duc Thang University held the Opening Ceremony of the academic year 2021-2022. At the event, TDTU honoured to welcome leaders of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, leaders of Ho Chi Minh City and partner localities, leaders of a number of universities and partner businesses, the Founding Council, the University Council for the term 2021-2026, the Presidential Board and leaders of affiliated units, along with lecturers and 9,000 students representing 25,000 students attending online.
At the Ceremony, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - Acting President of Ton Duc Thang University summarized the achievements of the University in the academic year 2020-2021. Accordingly, despite many difficulties due to the impact of the COVID 19 pandemic, the University has achieved many encouraging achievements in all aspects of activities including education, research and international cooperation. The work related to specialized fields has been transformed into a flexible form based on the application of digital technology, helping the University maintain regular activities, ensuring the training plan and quality.
The University has successfully accredited 11 undergraduate programs according to AUN-QA standards and 4 programs according to FIBAA standards. It is in the academic year 2020-2021 that TDTU officially entered the Top 500 best universities in the world according to THE World University Rankings.
Also at the Ceremony, the University awarded students with excellent academic and extracurricular achievements for the academic year 2020-2021 and students who passed the entrance exam in 2021 with high results.
Dr. Ngo Duy Hieu - Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour delivered a guiding speech at the ceremony. He praised the results that TDTU lecturers and students have achieved in the past academic year, encouraged the pride of TDTU students about the place they are studying so that they can continue their efforts to study well.
