A visit to Ton Duc Thang University of the Minister of Education & Training and Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour

On December 12, 2022, the Delegation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour and the Ministry of Education and Training led by Mr. Nguyen Dinh Khang - Member of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour - and Mr. Nguyen Kim Son - Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Education and Training - paid a visit to Ton Duc Thang University (TDTU). Going with the Delegation of the Ministry of Education and Training were the Director General of the Department of Higher Education, the Director General of the Department of Organization and Personnel, the Director General of the Department of Finance, the Director General of the Department of Science and Technology, the Chief of the Ministry Office, and experts from the Offices, Departments, Committees under the Ministry of Education & Training and the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

Accompanying the Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour were the Head of Organizing Committee, the Head of Finance Committee, and the Chief of Office of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour.

On the side of TDTU, Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Chairman of the University Council, Dr. Tran Trong Dao - President, Dr. Vo Hoang Duy - Vice President and leaders of functional units welcomed and worked with the Delegation.

Dr. Vu Anh Duc - Chairman of the University Council briefly reported on the 25-year establishment process, the University’s activities in training, admission, international cooperation, scientific research, organizing the team of lecturers, staff and employees. He also made recommendations and proposals to create conditions for TDTU to implement its development goals in the future.

At the meeting, Minister Nguyen Kim Son highly appreciated the success of the University in recent years and affirmed Ton Duc Thang University as a prestigious educational address and increasingly asserting its position domestically and internationally. He praised: “TDTU has a fast development speed and influence in the Vietnamese and international education system. The University has spacious and modern facilities, which is a pride in Vietnamese education.”

The Minister emphasized that TDTU needs to carry out the mission of a public university, contributing to the education system in particular and the Vietnamese people in general. On the basis of recognizing the successes achieved in the past time, the university needs to focus on developing in the direction of a research university and determine the appropriate position and direction in the coming time for sustainable development. The Ministry of Education and Training always accompanies to solve problems and creates all conditions for TDTU to develop in accordance with the needs of society.

On behalf of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, Chairman Nguyen Dinh Khang thanked the Ministry of Education and Training for their sincere and close attention to the development of TDTU. He expected that TDTU lecturers, staff and employees will fully absorb the Minister’s instructions and seriously implement them in the coming time to continue to be one of Vietnam’s leaders in the field of training and research.
